Anyway, just to say it was nice to chat with you, to wish you well and strength, and if you would like to contact me with how the event went, I would appreciate it. It's times like this that nobody knows what to say or do. I alone feel overwhelmed by this loss of as one put it "a gentle giant." I am a true believer that things happen for a reason but that's something we can't see until the initial shock of loss has had a chance to settle in our being. Whether we believe in God or a higher power, we will hopefully be guided to this understanding. There are no words to ease the pain and emotions run rampant. Never the less, it's always difficult on the people left behind. I had the pleasure of having Adam as my RAD instructor and forever I will carry his strength for that which he taught to keep us safe. Joanne, my heart certainly goes out to you during this time of sorrow. I hope that you can embrace a similar strength for you and the children. I pray that your inner souls find a meeting of the heart and mind which allows one find a peaceful and once again loving existence.

Sgt. Rosenthal was one of the greatest people I had ever in my life had the opportunity to learn from. I was a Police Explorer with DBPD for 6 years. During that time, Defensive Tactics sessions were the most anticipated weekly meetings we had. Sgt. Rosenthal would show up and we knew we were in for an experience. I remember when Sgt. Rosenthal won the award for Officer of the Year from the Gulfstream Council. He won the award for all of his law enforcement accomplishments as well as all of the work he did outside of the job. I feel privledged for having known Sgt. Rosenthal and I express my deepest sympathies for his family both at home and at the department. R.I.P. Sarge.

I watched Adam grow from his first judo class over 18 years ago, when we discussed his ambitions to become a police officer. He not only achieved his goal, but he has excelled at it.
In addition, he worked hard to bring judo to children who might not otherwise have a healthy outlet for their energies. He has been a marvelous role model for them. The conduct of the students I've met from his program demonstrates the good job he has done.
Adam was always willing to help others, and was a great person to have around. Everybody at Tomodachi will miss him. He was taken from us all too soon.
Adam also became friends with my wife and children. We will all miss him greatly. Our hearts go out to his family. They have seen too much tragedy.

I write this with an extremely heavy heart and tears in my eyes. So many fond memories of basketball, working out in the gym, playing judo, boxing in the garage and watching the first UFCs in your parent's living room with your dad. We completed high school, earned our Criminal Justice degree at FAU (in 5-years since college was so much fun) and after a short stint in law school you found your passion in law enforcement while your dad convinced me to pursue a graduate degree in public administration.
Like the Parisi's, you were with me when I met Tanya 16 years ago. You have made a lasting impression on so many lives, none more important then your kids, and will be dearly missed.

I met Sgt. Rosenthal just recently at a lunch place in Delray. We were in line together and started chatting. I knew nothing about him other than he was a very warm and uplifting person. Now I find out what a service he has done for our community and that he has four children and a wife that are now left without a father and husband. I broke down in tears when I saw this on the news. Very very sad. Before knowing all that he has done for his community and family, I knew from instinct that he was a good person. He had that presence about him. My sincerest sympathy goes out to his family and fellow employees.

I didn`t know your name or your story. I didn`t know about the 4 kids or your wife. When I turned on the news this morning and saw your car I did know you were in a fight for your life. I watched as it unfolded on live TV praying and pulling for you with all my being screaming at the TV for them to get you out of the car. Finally jumping up and down once they got you out. Only to realize they were doing CPR on you still hoping for a miracle. It never happened. I know your story now. From what I have read you were an amazing guy. I`m sorry for the pain your wife and children are going through. Words are never enough.

Every emotion has come over me today after I heard what happened, Adam. Pain, shock, guilt, sadness...laughing and crying at the same time going back and forth with Eric today about our time with you as our friend and Big Brother. I remember training in the FAU gym eating roundhouse kicks trying to figure out how to get inside on someone 6" taller than me. I regret not keeping closer ties after graduation. You did so much for me, helping me through a lot. You are missed and I am proud of you.
