Elizabeth Steckel Obituary

Elizabeth T. "Liz" Steckel June 25, 2011 Elizabeth T. "Liz" Steckel, 84, of Onondaga Hill and Skaneateles, passed away Saturday, June 25, at University Hospital after a brief illness. She was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan College. She was a member of Onondaga Hill Presbyterian Church, Western Hills Bridge Club and Delta Gamma Sorority. Liz was past president and past board member of the Onondaga Free Library. She enjoyed duplicate bridge, golf, tennis, skiing and traveling. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed her summers on Skaneateles Lake. She was the mother of the late Laurie Branson. Surviving are her husband, William H. "Bill' Steckel; a son, Chad (Diane) Steckel of Skaneateles; four grandchildren, Andrew and Kathryn Branson, and Peter and Allison Steckel; and a sister, Janet Perrin of Maine. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Inc., 4504 W. Seneca Tnpk. Private interment in Highland Cemetery, Marcellus. Friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions may be made to the Onondaga Free Library or Onondaga Hill Presbyterian Church.
