Helen B. Poniatowski Omiecinski February 23, 2011 Helen B. Poniatowski Omiecinski, 92, passed away February 23, 2011, at The Cunningham Nursing Home at Loretto. A lifetime resident of Syracuse and East Syracuse, Helen was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Stanley C.; her daughter, Kathleen Omiecinski Kahn; two brothers, Henry and Raymond Poniatowski and two sisters, Genevieve Bryzinski and Harriet Sitnik. She was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church and was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society and St. Matthew's Mothers Club. She was employed as an associate of Addis Company for several years and loved to read and travel and also loved crocheting. She is survived by her children, Stanley P. (Gisela) Omiecinski of Pompey; daughters, Mary Anne (Stephen) Kurylowicz of Iverness, FL, Margaret (Bill) Gingalewski of Eastwood, Patrice Omiecinski of E. Syracuse and Virginia Szydlowski of Orlando, FL. Helen also had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in MATHEWSON-FORANI Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in St. Matthews Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, 206 Kinne St., E. Syracuse, NY. Contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Church pantry. Helen will be sorely missed by all.
