Kirstie Farmer Obituary
Kirstie L. Farmer, 39, of 3852 Ingalls Corners Road, Canastota, died unexpectedly on Saturday. She was born on April 19, 1973, in Oneida, the daughter of Leland and Marlene Sturdevant Durant. Kirstie lived in the Morrisville area, graduating from Stockbridge Valley Central School in 1991. She later attended Onondaga County Community College and SUNY Morrisville. Kirstie was a licensed massage therapist (L.M.T.), who owned and operated the Manlius Day Spa for the last eight years. Prior to becoming a L.M.T., she worked as a federal certified paint inspector, inspecting numerous bridges in New England, including the George Washington Bridge, and bridges in the Deerfield, MA, area. Kirstie was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, snowshoeing, and taking long walks. Kirstie married Joseph T. Farmer on September 21, 2002, in Peterboro. She was predeceased by her father, Leland Durant.
Survivors: her husband, Joseph; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Aidan Farmer at home, and Sean and Linette Farmer of Ft. Campbell, KY; her mother, Marlene Durant of Deansboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Wanda Durant of Sylvan Beach; one sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Gary Eastman of Morrisville; nieces and nephews, Roger, Lydia, Carrie, Gary, and Olivia; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at St. Agatha's Church, Canastota, where a funeral Mass will be held. The Rev. Thomas Durant, pastor of St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro, will officiate. Calling Hours: Wednesday (tomorrow) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.

I met Kirstie through a friend and became a client. Kirstie was kind, caring and enjoyed to share her knowledge. We would talk of her past career and the similarities to my current job. My sincere sympathy for Kirstie's family. She was an amazing person and I will greatly miss her. My favorite memory of her is this past fall when her and Aiden came out to Ohio and her, my mom, and I took Aiden and my son Blake to the African Safari. I met Kirstie a month ago when I became a client. My father-in-law had passed away a few days earlier and when I told her, Kirstie was kind, comforting and compassionate. She wrote down the name of a book for me that she said had helped her cope with the death of her Dad. She was a wonderful person and I was looking forward to visiting her again.
