Margaret Magowan

Margaret Magowan April 20, 2011 Margaret Magowan, 92, died Wednesday. Born and raised in Kansas, she spent most of her adult life in New York City, and had lived in Baldwinsville for seven years. She was a member of University United Methodist Church. In addition to raising her own five children, she had a long career as a foster mother, caring for over 100 foster children. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Jim; and her sons, David and Doug. She is survived by her children, Jim (Ellie), Pat (Neal), Danny (Kirsten); foster children, Nick (Elaine), Stephen (Claire), Eva, and Joe; grandchildren, Lisa, Laura, Eric, Mary, Lizz, David, Colleen, and great-granddaughters, Jessica, Kate and Dani. Calling Hours: 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at Gates Funeral Home, 29 W Genesee St., Baldwinsville. Funeral Service: 7 p.m. Monday at University United Methodist Church, 1085 East Genesee St., Syracuse.
