Mike was truely one of the nicest young men I ever had in class or have ever been around. He was polite, humble, and had a heart of gold. I could recognize all of this in him as a ninth grader. Anyone could. My prayers with the Tausend family.

I am so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of Mike. I can't imagine how hard it must be to try and make sense of it all. When I heard the news my first memory of Mike was at the ugly sweater Christmas party and then of how proud he was of remodeling the house with you. Mike you were one of the nicest, most caring, sweetest men I knew. Genuine and honest, with a warm heart that was a friend to everyone. You could put a smile on the face of even the most melancholy person in the bunch. Always there to pick up those who were feeling down. It's hard to put into words how much I know you will be missed by those around you. It truly was a treasure to have known you, and a tragedy that you are taken away so soon in life when you still had so much sunshine yet to spread. My heart goes out to your family. At least they can have some peace knowing you surely had your spot in heaven reserved for you. The world would be a better place if we had more Michael Tausend's in it. Farewell Mike. I am deeply saddened that we have lost such a fine example of a Cato-Meridian graduate.
Michael was such a humble and giving person. I remember the time when he found out one of our athletes didn't have money for running sneakers; he went home and brought him back a pair of his. I also remember how excited Carl was whenever he thought his big brother was coming to watch him run. Carl always ran his best when he was there, and Michael made sure, knowing this, that he was at the big races.
Michael was the type of person who would give you his raincoat during a thundershower and then walk you home to make sure you got there safe. I know there is a special place for him in Heaven.
I wish to express my deepest sympathy to his wife and family. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

i knew mike when we were in school. Me and mike never keep in touch. But i had lots of fun and silly memiores with mike. Such a awsome guy. Always happy. Never let anything bother him. Hugs and my deepest sympathies to your family Mike. I really don't think anyone can remember a time where you didn't have a smile on your face. I will never forget the time you made deep fried ice cream in Mrs. Lebro's class...wasn't that bad! I really do believe you to be one of the most kind hearted people that I have ever known. I can't think of one negative thing and I remember you as being a friend to everyone, never judging. It breaks my heart to see another great person taken far too early.
