Richard Jerrett Obituary
Richard H. Jerrett, 71, of Mexico, died Sunday at his home. He was born in Mexico, son of the late Richard R. and Nola Halsey Jerrett. He was a pipe fitter for Local #73 of Oswego. He owned and operated Jerrett's Auto Parts in Mexico. He was a race car driver at the Oswego Speedway. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, an avid gardner and he was a gunsmith. He was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1957 to 1959.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, the former Susan Lehmann; one son, Richard H. Jerrett; three daughters, Jeri Lynn Noel Jackson, Colleen Ann Jerrett and Brenda Jean Jerrett; and two sisters, Jane Shumway and Marion Jerrett. He was predeceased by one daughter, Julene B. Jerrett, in 1969 and one sister, Carol Jerrett.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday from Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Ave., Mexico, NY. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

I am sadden at his passing ,but for him I would not be here. he saved my life from drowning in the creek across from the gas station . winter of 1950. he will always be in my hart.

Susie, So sorry to hear of your loss. I was shocked when I heard the news. He so loved to hunt and fish (and tell stories). We'll miss that. I'm sure if there's water in heaven, he's got the planer boards out and has started trolling for some trophy walleye already. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and always.

So sorry to hear of Dickie's passing. His Dad was my favorite driver, and I remember those days with Nola, Dick, Dickie and the girls. Haven't seen him, in years, but the memories are precious. May you all hold on to your special memories, which will help to bring many smiles to you, in the future.

My condolences go out to the Jerrett family for the loss of a great Mexico dignatary, as a life long racefan, my childhood memories wouldnt be the same without seeing him at the racetrack, having grown up with his son Bucky will always be a great part of my childhood!!

Just now learned of Dick's passing. He was a great guy, great friend, great neighbor, and great friend to my parents. Dick, you lived enough for several lifetimes, yet that is never enough. Dear Sue,
I am so very sorry. I will always picture Dickie laughing at the Liberty Bell, usually with my Dad, over some joke. I can imagine them together now, telling stories that will make the saints blush. Thinking of you and praying for you in the days and weeks ahead.
