Richard Keller Obituary

May 6, 2012

Richard H. "Dick" Keller, 71, of North Syracuse, passed away Sunday at Francis House, after a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Rochester, he was the son of the late Hermann and Lydia Heisler Keller. He lived in North Syracuse since 1963 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired in March 1997 after 25 years of service from the NYS DOT Equipment Management as a heavy equipment mechanic.

Mr. Keller was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He loved his family and especially time spent with his grandchildren. In his retirement, he thoroughly loved RVing, traveling across country and spending winters in Florida.

Surviving are his wife and best friend of 51 years, the former Linda J. Troy; three children, Richard H. (Thereza) Keller Jr. of California, Kristine (Scott) Forrester of Ohio and Sandra (Nicholas) Napolitano of Cicero; a sister, Evelyn (David) DePan of Warners; six grandchildren, Robert, Jessica, Joshua, Michael, Dominick and Sophie and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their most heart felt appreciation to the Palliative Care nursing staff at St. Joseph's Hospital as well as the Francis House nurses, who truly are angels to the patients and families they support.

Services will be Saturday, at 10 a.m. at Fergerson Funeral Home with burial following in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088 or to Francis House, 108 Michaels Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13208.
