Ronald MacDonald

Ronald MacDonald November 7, 2011 Ronald MacDonald, 71, of Fulton, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse after a long illness. He was born in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Sawinski) MacDonald. He had been a resident of Fulton for most of his life. Mr. MacDonald was a United States veteran having served in the Marine Corps, from 1958 to 1962. He retired from Carrier Corp., Syracuse after working in their service for 34 years. He was an avid camper, traveler and motorcycle rider. Mr. MacDonald especially loved to ride through the mountains. He also enjoyed taking flying lessons. Mr. MacDonald thoroughly loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce MacDonald of Fulton; their four children: Kelly (Ted) Brackenrig of Ossining, NY, Linda (Danny) Dlugozima of FL, Stephanie (Tom) Cleland of Olathe, KS, and Chad (Kelli) MacDonald of CO; seven grandchildren: Edward, Ryan, and Chad Brackenrig, Daniel and Tyler Dlugozima, Hunter Cleland and Griffin MacDonald; aunt, Rogene Boileau; uncle, Norman Sawinski; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Stephen Wirkes officiating. The Military Honor Guard of New York State will bestow military honors and bagpiper Ted Whiting will provide music. Burial will be held privately. Calling hours will be conducted 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton.
