I always looked forward to hearing Mr. Knott's words of wisdom every Thursday morning in front of City Council ! In addition to being a fellow Gator, I respected the fact that he took time off from his day to come down and let us know how he felt about all sorts of important issues in our city. Our community would be a much better place if we had more people like Moses who wanted to make a difference. I did not know that he had been ill, but I should have suspected it since he had not been down to Council to see us over the past year or so. My warmest regards and sympathy go out to his family. Sincerely Tampa City Councilman (2003-2010) John Dingfelder

Uncle Junior, you are the strongest man I've ever known. This world lost a great warrior when you were called home to Heaven. On behalf of my family and siblings, I want to thank you for all the kindness and love you gave to each of us...we will miss you dearly. I'll cherish the sage wisdom you shared with me under the grapefruit trees in your front yard. Whenever I was weak, your words made me strong. When I suffered from self-pity, you reminded me to be thankful for my blessings. You were my mentor and counselor. You taught me determination, discipline, and humility. We will always love you Uncle Junior. Donovan, Janice, Brittany, Kara and Dawn.

Mr. Knott , I never met you but wish i had , you were the only reason i tuned in to the BOCC mettings, you always came in all guns blazing and were the epitome of what i consider a True American ....You stood up for what you believed, spoke your mind at all times and would blast the BOCC when they needed it....and most of the time they did need it.....A man like yourself should be the mold of what this country needs to get back to.....Standing for what you believe in and speaking your mind to make changes, you were truly a breath of fresh air.......God Bless you and your family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.....you will be missed by more than you will ever realize, by people like myself.

Peace

I know at this time no words can replace the feelings within. I have experenced this loss through my mothers passing. Trust in the lord and only know that prayer and time will ease some of the pain, god makes no mistakes. This is one thing we all must do one day. I will pray for you and your family, if you need me please don't hesitate to call.

Mr. Knotts was a very good man. We were acquaintances that through the years bought and sold to each other. But I knew and admired him mostly from his community service. More often than not he was one of the few intelligent and logical voices at the many, many City Council Meetings he attended. Tampa is a better place because of Moses's contribution both as a businessman but in his practical intellect as well. I admired his unbending faith in God and that he always treated everyone with dignity and respect. I'm sure when he got to the gates he proclaimed, I'm Moses Knotts Jr. and I'm a faitful servant of my Lord and God Jesus Christ. And without a doubt, those gates opened. RIP Moses. Hope to see you again.
