RAYMOND COYLE Memoriam

IN MEMORIUM Raymond J. Coyle Jr. Major U.S. Army (ret) passed away December 7, 2004, at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital. He was born December 22, 1930, in Sebring, Fla. After graduating from Sebring High School, he served 23 years in the military-13 of these years in foreign countries. He served in Germany, Lebanon, Suez, Vietnam and Cambodia (2 tours). His decorations included Master Parachute Badge (245 jumps); Army of Occupation (Germany) Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Indochina Campaign Medal w/device 60; Bronze Star medal w/2 OLC; Joint Service Commendation Medal; 4 Overseas Bars; plus numerous others. A graduate of the Univ. of Tampa, he also attended many military schools including the United Kingdom Joint School; U.S. Army Signal Officers School: and the U.S. Army Engineers School. In 1962 he was awarded a presidential promotion to 1st Lieutenant by President John F. Kennedy. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, American Legion State Post, DAV and many others. He spent many years as a volunteer, assisting veterans in every way possible, which he considered to be his life's work. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Louise; sons Raymond lll and Ted Triantafilu: daughters Carol Orren and Sandra Callerame: brothers George Coyle and Richard Hague:sister Eloise Trucano. His final resting place is next to his father, Sgt. Raymond Coyle Sr. in Pinecrest Cemetery Sebring. He was loved and is missed by all who knew him.

"Hey, Cookie!" Raymond said, and tooted at me on his tuba. That's how I remember my 1949 Sebring High School graduating classmater. Raymond Coyle with his mischivious smile and propensity for whipping something up in the kitchen!
