I believe Dad's epitaph says it best:
Christian, Father, Farmer, Educator.

His love of science was supassed only by his love for God and his fellow mankind.

I am grateful for the time I had to get to know him better; for knowing him helps me to understand myself.

His love of the land and animals he passed on not only to his children but also his grandchildren.

His legacy reaches farther than any of us will ever know. He touched enumerous lives.

I hope we will all be able to remember the lessons he taught us to survive this world and to make it to Heaven.

I know Jennifer, Grandad, Nana and Dad are all there waiting to greet us. In the meantime, I hope his family stays as closely knit together as we did this past year.

I miss my Dad. I know my siblings & nieces do also. We are all hoping and praying that he is enjoying his new surroundings with family and friends in Heaven. Dad, you gave us definitions for "grit," "determination," "dream," and "honest worker." With that said, we march on to continue that which you hoped we would do so that through us, your efforts would not have been in vain.
