I met Coach Trahan when I was the manager of the Plebe track team at West Point. He treated me as a key member of the team and taught me great lessons in discipline and training. Coach was a major reason the Class of 68 had such outstanding success during its four years and played a key role in my development and Army career. In the words of our Alma Mater, Coach, well-done!

I was greatly saddened to learn of my friend's demise. I first met him as a freshman at our wonderful Rayne High School in 1944. He was a leader then of the Military training which we received at Rayne High. I joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1948, and retired in 1975. I cherish the few visits we enjoyed when I traveled home. I also believe he was the most civic minded individual in the Rayne community. May God hold him gently in the palms of his hands. May God also care for his loved ones. I am unable to attend the funeral. Hugh Dugas, Proud Captain of Marines (Retired}, Okmulgee, OK.

I will always remember Coach Trahan's enthusiasm and dedication to track and field and particularly his role in the Southwestern Relays and Cajun Classic.
There was never any doubt as to his allegiance to the university and his desire to see it achieve excellence.
Thank you coach for your service to our country!
