Kathy,
My deepest sympathies to you and the family of Raymond. We both worked at Michigan Bell back in the '70's and dated for nearly 2 yrs.I really cared for him. When I knew him he only owned Pierre Cardine suits, no jeans. He drove a Jag and loved to chrome parts on his motorcycle, which he kept in living rm. of his apt. We had many good times together. I am the gal who did the needlework of the tree which was framed and hanging on his wall. I too was treated for cancer (breast) with chemo & have been in remission for 6 yrs. Our relationship ended in Oct 1975. So glad to hear he had a good life. Sincerely, Connie (Farrow) Woodie [email protected]

Kathy,
Our deepest sympathies to you and the family at such a difficult time. Raymond will be missed and I will always remember him for his soft spoken voice and smile. I wil never forget my first motorcycle ride around the lake. He was truly a genuine person at heart. The service was beautiful and a true tribute to his life as a committed, dedicated and inspirational person. He's no longer in pain and at peace and I'm sure he's smiling ear to ear for he's with God. Sincerely, Bobbie/Cliff

Kathy,
May Ray rest in peace.
As you know many of us knew Raymond as our leader in the workplace.
He was always an honest leader and a mentor to many.
I am certain that those that knew him in recent years discovered, as we did oh so many years ago, that Ray was a strong and inspirational person.
I am certain that he is organizing heaven today.
Reflecting back to the late 1980's and 1990's when we worked together he was certainly a great person.

Kathy, our deepest sympathies for your loss. Working beside Raymond for many years,we all appreciate a man of such great charactor and expertise. Many people have nicknames but no one lived up to theirs so much as "Gentleman Ray" lived up to his. He will be deeply missed.

With deepest condolences, I submit that Ray was one of the nicest, friendliest men I have met in many years. Although I did not know him very well, he sure seemed to love life and enjoyed living it to the fullest! He will surely be missed by many and it is a definite loss to anyone who never had the pleasure to make his acquaintance.

The world has lost a wonderful man who extended his friendship to everyone he meet. Ray has been working on my bikes since he started with Lakeland Harley but is so much more than just a mechanic he was a friend. Ray, I will miss you and hope that you will find new roads to ride and have bikes to work on in heaven. Ride those clouds buddy. Hope to join you someday and we can ride together that we could never find time to do here.

January 25, 2011

We will miss seeing Ray's smile on Sunday mornings. If you were the
least bit down about something, just being around him would lift you up.
This is a loss for our church and our community.
Kathy, you and your family are in our prayers.

Ray’s passing comes as a great surprise to his many friends in the Antique Motorcycle Club of America where he has served as the club’s Treasure for many years. He was well liked, never had a harsh word, and was quick to assist anyone. He rightly earned his moniker “Gentleman Ray”. Ray, you will be sorely missed.
