Ita, we were all thinking of you yesterday on your first anniversary.
We marked the day by doing one of your favourite walks in Glendalough and felt your presence walking along with us. We recalled many happy memories of you and the day was made even more special by having Queva and Ollie with us.
Forever and always thinking of you.
From all your family in Grangecon.

Ita, It is almost your 7th month and I still to this day think about you all the time. You were so strong throughout everything you were put through. You never deserved any of it, but as they say, God gained another angel. Being with you and looking back, made me realize that life is too short to let things hold you back from living life to the fullest. Cancer didn't stop you from golfing or going on vacation etc. You still carried on and pulled through so strongly. God gave you this challenge because he knew that you could handle it. And you handled it so well. You fought this battle so well for so long. Cancer didn't make you weak, it only made you stronger. People continue to look up to you and aspire to be just as optimistic you were. I love to hear stories about you and to see peoples faces light up when they hear your name. Your legacy will live on forever and you will continue to be in our thoughts. I love you. xo

Dearest ita,
It still doesn't seem real, not a day goes by where I don't think about you. You are such an inspiration to me and too all of us. You had the sweetest voice in the world, when you'd ring granny's on a Saturday you'd know straight away who it was. Ill never forget the times we spent together over cups of tea, in grangecon and one memory I will forever hold of you is when we were In Galway sitting by the fire playing bingo. You were a great story teller and baker. You were so kind and caring and you didn't deserve to be taken away, your strength will carry through our family and me, you never once gave up. You were a great mam, wife, daughter, sister, friend and most of all a great aunt. You will be forever with us all, love you always, sinead xxx

Dear Ita, you will be hugely missed in Grange Con and also in Perth by your family and friends. I always looked up to you when growing up because you had so many great talents and also traits that shone within you and touched everyone you met. For such a small gentle person you were so strong, brave and also positive. We were all so lucky to have had someone like you in our lives. I hope that some day I might gain some of the many strengths you had. I know Ita you are up there looking down on each and everyone of us protecting and guiding us through life. You will be in my thoughts.

Rest in peace Ita,
You will be truly missed.

All my love, Michelle xox

Dear Ita,my favourite cousin how we will miss you. We went back a long way starting in Arklow to babysitting our brood in Ballygannonbeg when you and Billy were still under twenty! You were so funny retelling Germaine,s escapades when she was three or four. We had the privilage of spending a week with you and Billy in Perth in May this year as we did in 2003, and meeting your friends in your golf club. You could not do enough for us and it was hard saying goodbye.

Rest in peace Ita, and look after Billy, Caoimhe and Conor. God Bless.
Jenni and Chris Healy, Arklow.

To Auntie Ita
Germaines stick together
But there was that day
When one had to go away
She did not cry
She did not fuss
Thats because she's still here with us
She could take no action
But pray she could
And that prayer could change
A life
A day

To my dearest sister Ita
Its not always possible to understand why life works the way it does, but you were never one to sit back and let the world pass you by, its hard to believe that you were on a cruise with your friends less than eight weeks ago and worked your last nursing shift following that trip. You are an inspiration to us all and I hope to learn from your example. You handled your illness with strength and dignity and were unaware of the special place you held in all the lives you touched.I will miss all the laughs we had together, the trips home to Ireland, the clean up operation at home in Grangecon with you organising us all to paint the house, sheds etc and then setting the table on the front lawn with a lovely meal for us all to enjoy, the cooking and baking tips , the weekends away in the Talbot Hotel and the way you surprised us all with wine ,chocolate and strawberries out of your suitcase, the great books you recommended and the sound advice you gave me on my career and on raising my four children. Caoimhe and Conor were so lucky to have you as their mum and I see so much of them in you. Take care my Darling and know you will be forever in our thoughts
