Words cannot even begin to express what is felt to have Carol gone. I couldn't believe it the minute I heard and I still can't believe it a week later. I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know her and work with her. I remember just a little while ago how she came to my desk and said I need help and I've been working on this for two weeks. Within a few minutes she had what she needed. I loved the time to chat and work with Carol. She will always be deeply missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. In the years I attended Norwich University, Professor Stephens was my favorite teacher/mentor. From my first Thermo class to having her as a mentor for my senior project she was a strong influence and a friend during my time at Norwich. She was a great person and always went out of her way to help me to succeed. I am at a loss for words. She was a wonderful person and I am honored to been given the chance to be her student. She will truly be missed by all.

Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. Carol was a wonderful individual with such a positive spirit. May she go where there is no sickness and no pain. It was a priviledge to have been able to meet her.

Tom, Emma, James and all of the family + many many friends Carol touched we are so saddened by the loss of Carol. I'll miss her wicked sense of humor and ability to light up a room with just her presence. A positive driving whirlwind who got more done in a day than most people in a month! She lives on through all of you and the generous pieces of herself she's shared throughout the years with my family and so many others.... Hugs to all of you (Kathy & Kendal Petty, Rachel, Joshua and Rayna)

You were a great mentor, teacher and friend anyone could ever ask for. You have influenced so many people probably more than you ever knew!

Tom, Emma, James (and ALL other family members: Word cannot express how sad I am of Carol's passing. She fought so bravely for so long...I will always remember going to the "Wig Goddess" with Carol and going with her to have her hair cut for the first time after her diagnosis. Carol had such a great outlook from day one....we also had a great time when we went to the "look better, feel better" clinic in Hanover. She was such a great role model for the Girls in the community, especially her Girl Scout troops over the years, and I will always remember the fun we had with the girls doing all kinds of interesting things. She always made each girl feel special and helped them to believe in themselves. Carol's influence will live on forever in those girls. Hugs to you all, I am thinking of you and praying for you all.
