Ralph Buswell Obituary
He was born Aug. 1, 1928, the son of Delmer and Vera Whaley Buswell.
Mr. Buswell was a high school teacher at Watseka High School and administrator at Iroquois Area Career Center.
He served in the United States Army Infantry. He was a member of St. Edmunds Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Kiwanis Club, past Lt. Gov. of Kiwanis Club, past president of the Kiwainis Club, Knights of Columbus Grand Knight, fair board secretary and treasurer of Iroquois County 4-H fair, driver for Road for Recovery and a captain for Relay For Life team - Team Mara. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and going to their cabin in Wisconsin.
He married Bernadine A. Arseneau Aug. 8, 1953, in Beaverville. She survives in Watseka.
Also surviving are daughters and sons-in-law: Rosann and Don Miller of Watseka, Julie and Steve Danker of Shorewood, Minn., and Pam and Kevin Verkler of Watseka; sons and daughters-in-law: Gregg Buswell and fiance Sheila Nadworny of St. Charles, Mo., Larry and Diane Buswell of Watseka, Marty and Suzie Buswell of Woodlawn, Jim Buswell of Watseka, and David and Cheri Buswell of Bloomington, Minn.; brother Irol L. Buswell of Watseka; 14 grandchildren: Landon Miller, Ryan Miller, Andrea Batha, Ben Danker, Patrick Danker, Haley Buswell, Taylor Buswell, Elissa Brown, Claire Verkler, Jelena Verkler, Danny Buswell, Amanda Buswell, Lauren Buswell, and Nate Buswell; three great-grandchildren: Brianna Buswell, Maddax Batha and Nolan Batha; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Anna Laura Wiltfang, brother Charles Buswell and granddaughter Mara Verkler.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Edmunds Church with Father Michael Powell officiating.
Burial will be in Buswell Cemetery, Kentland, Ind.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Relay For Life - Team Mara, St. Edmunds or to the donor's choice.

I still feel as if Ralph was nearby especially when I go to the Iroquois County administrative center on business. Our days thru life are ever present with me even in my old age. God bless you all.

Bernadine and family, We want express our sympathies. Ralph was a good friend since we showed pigs at the county fair in milford in the early 40's. Later at the Uof I. Then teaching Korean War veterans about farming, and most of all when Ralph was the county fair secretary.
