I was so sad and shocked to hear about Dian's passing. I knew Dian well enough to remember that smile. She never, ever said anything but nice things to me. I saw her once at a yard sale and we laughed together at being out and about in our community (me in my lounging pants.) This is truly a sad event. My deepest sympathies to Dian's family... I do hope you hold on to your memories and I hope they sustain you during this difficult time.

Louie and family,
I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am that Dian passed away. I know she is gone in person but definitely not in spirit. I have so many fond memories of our crazy times at Plattsburgh and have laughed again over pictures and silly poses. I feel sad that we lost touch over the years. Her smile is as beautiful as ever and I'm sure her personality lives on in your children and in your heart.

Dear "Swiz" family:
I am so sorry for your loss. As a friend of the Dallas family, I met Dian years ago at events surrounding you kids; then I had the pleasure of working with her last year at Albany High School. My memories of her will always be: a smiling face, a kind word, fierce support for her children, loving commitment to her husband and a consummate professional bringing the best out in her students.
May memories of happier times comfort you.

Those of us who were blessed to have known Dian and to be her friends were at once drawn by her beautiful eyes and engaging smile, impressed with her intelligence, comforted by her warm personality, inspired by her grit, and entertained by her quick wit and ever-present sense of humor.
Though she suffered the childhood tragedy of losing her mother, Dian was able to draw on the closeness of her loving siblings and the support of her family and friends to become the warm, caring, and giving person we all admired.
At college, she prevailed over painful and chronic arthritis, never letting it keep her from getting to class in sub-zero weather, walking across campus, going out with friends or enjoying school life. Those days, Dian could make a fashion statement out of a pair of overalls, and smile and tell a joke that filled a room with laughter.
And while she could easily be the center of attention, she often allowed the spotlight to shine on her friends and loved ones. She had so many special qualities that made her a unique individual, a wonderful wife and soul-mate to Louie, a loving and devoted mother, and a dear and cherished friend to so many.
Godspeed, Dian, and may your indomitable spirit continue to fill your family and friends with your enduring love all the days of their lives.
With deep sorrow for your loss and love to Louie, Joe, Julia, and Peter,

For Dian's husband, children, brothers, sister,
My heart goes out to you.
Dian and I played together as children. We were rarely bored (for long). She once taped a string to a dollar bill and planted it in front of Delson's store. She would pull it away when someone went to pick it up. She was so funny.
May your memories of your times together comfort you. She is with her beloved Aunt Fran and parents.
In sympathy,
Jean Connell

This is so sad... I remember Dian from the summer following our senior year in high school when we used to hang out on the hill behind her house, at HVCC and very rarely at Price Chopper or Hannaford. She was a wonderful person and I send my heartfelt condolences to all her family.

I will be praying for each and everyone of you for strength to hold on, and remember to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. As a colleague I enjoy working with Dian. It was a joy and pleasure to know someone so brave and wonderful, full of courage and smiles, Dian always have encouraging words to say to you whenever you run into her, wheather its in the hallway or in the office, she never complain, and just her smile would brighten up your day.
