Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Tyler, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Tyler, You will be missed. I Love You!!!

August 21, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

All around me are familiar faces Worn out flaces, worn out faces. Bright and early for their daily races Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, ver mad world mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happt Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world....mad world
Enlarging your world
Mad world

“Soldier”
To Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Clinton "Tyler" McCormick - known to me as Tyler. I had not seen Tyler for many years but knew him when he was young, vibrate and just loved life. My heart was struck the day I saw your picture on the news, I could never forget your face. As a mother, never losing a child, but recently losing my Sister, Sharon, I have no words that can ease the pain for Lori, your mother, and your father, Kevin, who had the privilege of calling you their son. My prayers are with you all. May God Bless Your Family with strength in the days to come.

To The McCormick Family:

Our Lord said that "there is no greater love but that a man lay down his life for another". And your son did just that. He is a hero to us all, and I thank you for your son's willingness to serve our country to protect us and all of the freedoms that we enjoy.

To Tyler's Mom, my eyes are shedding tears with yours, my heart is breaking as is yours right now. I just lost my only child, Marine Corporal Joshua C. Watkins on 10/21/06, just one week before he was to come home from his second deployment. There is nothing that anyone can say or do to bring comfort, but I know from reading the article about your son, that you all are a family of faith, as am I. Cling to our heavenly Father and I pray that He will provide you with that peace that passes all understanding, which is the peace that only He can give you. I pray that he will literaly hold you in his arms and comfort you and strenghen you. I am so sorry for your loss, and should you need to just talk or anything to someone who knows your grief, please feel free to email me. God Bless you and keep you and may we always find comfort in the knowledge that we will see our beloved sons again when we too, can go home to the Lord.

I'm not really sure where to start. I guess.... First if all, Tyler was an amazing person. I was priveledged to know him the last 5 years of his life. I will miss him being with my family on the holidays, the fishing trips definitely wont be the same without him, and lets not forget just sitting around watching movies... which always turned into wrestling matches. He was sooo proud of himself for joining, I wish I couldv'e thought to tell him I was proud too, but to be honest I was scared enough for the both of us.

Tyler, I know you are in a far better place now! I love you ! You are and will always be a HERO in my eyes. I will see you again one day.

I haven't seen Tyler and his family for 8yrs. I knew Tyler when he was about 12yrs of age. But what I remember of him is that he was funny, sweet, smart, and the one thing that has stuck with me about him is that he was very knowledgable of the scriptures. Which is unique to see young people that knowledgeable of the precious word of God. I just want to thank you Tyler for making such a honorable sacrifice for me and our country. You have exemplified the heart of our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ in denying yourself the pleasures of this world to serve. I know that you are so blessed right now to be standing in such a glorious place enjoying your liberty and life but most of all seeing the face of God. I hope that your life inspires us all to live for Jesus Christ to give our lives unto Him as you have done in fighting for the liberty of people all over the world. Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to have known Tyler. I pray for your family to be comforted by His Holy Spirit. God Bless the McCormick family in the name of Jesus Christ.

As one of Tyler's elementary school teachers, I can truly say he was a good boy. He was always eager to please and wanted everyone to like him, especially his teachers. He simply wanted what we all want- respect for others. As a soldier and defender of our country, he gained this respect.

Your brother was always cheerful and happy. I know that now he is happy in the arms of the Lord. Your pain is great but in time you and your sister will heal.

Age doesn't define a man. Socio economic class doesn't define a man. Talk certainly doesn't define a man. A man is defined by his actions, and Private McCormick was indeed a fine man. It is easy to talk about change, but to be a part of that change is significant. Thank you, Mr. McCormick, for leaving a legacy that many "men" only dream about.
God bless you and your family always.

I have a grandson who joined the
Army in August. He, too, attended A. Philip Randolph School of Technology. He is currently attending school in Ft Gordon, Ga. From there he will go to Ft Stewart. I am so proud of him for his decision and I'm so proud of Tyler. May God be with all of you in the coming days as you grieve for this wonderful young man who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

I too am one of the many that have never met this family. However, my sincere condolences go out to each one of you. I am very appreciative of all Clinton did in his service to our country. It is young men and women like him who have paved the way to the freedom we enjoy every day. Thank you to his family for giving us the ultimate sacrifice, your son. Rest assured that God knows how you feel, for He too gave his Son that we may live free.
May God Bless you and strengthen each of you.

Your son's courage and strength is what defines a true man. He stood for what he believed, instead of just talking about it. Thank you for sharing him with his country. His work was not in vain, and it was quite honorable. It is people like Clinton Tyler McCormick who will change the world, and leave a legacy that many can only dream about. God bless you always.

I am the mother of a airman in the Air Force currently serving our country. I grieve with you, the loss of the best our country has to offer. As Christians, you know that to be absent from the human body is to be present with our Lord and Savior. You WILL be united again in heaven. As human beings, the wait is difficult and painful. Until then, know that the Lord has Tyler craddled in His perfect love, joy and peace.

I didn't know Tyler or his family at all. But I wanted to send my condolences simply because I am a mother of one son (age 22)who has recently joined the Army. I cried when I looked at Tyler's picture. I know that every person serving in our Armed Forces is someone's son, daughter, brother, sister, etc. It all breaks my heart. I had lived in Jacksonville a very long time ago, but still call it home. I know you are hurting badly and will be praying for your family.

My sincere sympathy for the loss of your son. There are no words that I could say for the graditude I feel for your son for what he has given to this country and to me and my family. It will never be forgotten. God bless you and your family.

To the Family of Pvt. Clinton T. McCormick:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
