Mary Rzucidlo Obituary

Mary "Pat" Rzucidlo and Walter J. Rzucidlo were born in Brooklyn, NY on July 2, 1932 and September 5, 1953 and left Tucson and taken to God on April 12, 2010 and April 18, 2010. They are now in the presence of the Lord, enjoying everlasting bliss, and are met by Pat's husband and Walt's father, Walter Martin Rzucidlo, Pat's brothers Charles and Vincent "Buddy" Bowen, and Pat's best friend, Violet Adams. Though Walter's life wasn't long, it was lived to its fullest. Pat and Walt are the beloved grandma and father of Shannon and Rheannon "Rae". Walter was the tender husband of Jill Brooker and the best friend of Eliot Fried. Pat was a devoted friend and follower of Christ, Walter was a jack of all trades, namely the dedicated vice president of Means Design and Build. In the last few years of their lives, the mother and son were selflessly each others' full-time care takers despite their own medical hardships and aspirations. Pat and Walt always had warm smiles and hugs to share, and their cheerful attitudes, empathy, and generosity were an inspiration to their family and all who came into contact with them. Their spirits will eternally be in our hearts. There will be a Memorial Service for Pat and Walt at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Faith Community Church, 2551 West Orange Grove Road.

I did not have the Honour of knowing Mary or Walter. I do have the Honour of knowing Jill she IS an Angel: so, I have to assume that Angels gravitate to one another.
Anyone related to Jill, married to Jill or even her friend: MUST have been or are; of the highest calibre of a human being.

My heart is very saddened by the immense void that Pat and Walt leave. My prayers have asked for strength and comfort for Jill, Shannon, and Rae. Things cannot ever be the same, but Pat's and Walt's values, character, and personal strength will live on. It is so hard to find a positive in times like these. I know that I learned a great deal from Walter and do not feel as though I am done learning from him..... He was a very close friend.

Nanny Pat was my second grand mother, unique in every way. She would tell you how it was even if she was wrong. She was stern, but generous! She and Nana Vi made the best turkey and cheese sandwiches I have ever had. I love her and miss her. Although I never real knew Walter, his character and qualities are seen in his two daughters Shannon and Rhea! That's gotta count for something, because they are two awesome individuals! I'll see you both soon!

Lee and I have known Walter and Pat for over 25 years. In that time we shared many pleasant experiences and have many fond memories of the times we spent together. Pat was a wonderful kind, caring person that always made us smile. Walter was an intelligent, fun man who we could call our friend. They will both be truly missed.

Walt I Love you. You are the man I aspire to be. I miss learning from you and the hours of endless BS sessions we had. You treated me like a son and best friend. I miss working with you. I miss your kind and gentile voice.

Pat used to work with my mother-in-law, Rose Filippelli (who passed away in December 2001), at Damiano's on Stone Avenue years ago. My oldest son, Jimmy, was about 3 or 4 at the time and would often accompany my father-in-law and eat there. Pat loved Jimmy and he loved her. She would ask him to fill the salt shakers on the tables for her. It made him feel important. Pat was always happy and bubbly and such a wonderful person. She will be missed.

Our families have been friends since before we can remember. My mom (Nana Vi) and Nanny Pat were best friends from their early 30's and supported eachother in their lives, children and marriages. Pat was a faithful friend to my mom during her illness and always kept us laughing with her great sense of humor. After moms passing all Nanny Pat would say was "i miss your mom so much, I just can wait to see here again" that was almost 6 years ago and now they are all together again giggling and enjoying eachother. This earth will not be the same without Pat, I loved her like my second mom and my childrens second Nana. Walter loved his family and his mom, we used to say the "sun rose and set on Walter" because Pat loved him so much. His care for her over the past couple of years was such a sacrifice of love because he was in such ill health himself. I know Pat was so thankful to have him by her side.
They will both be deeply missed.....

Shannon and Rae,
My fondest memory of your dad is the night before I married Eliot he sat down and gave me a good two hours of phylosophical advise. Some of it I still think of today. Some of it I still don't understand. You girls are a tribute to your dad (and mom). He was so proud of you. One thing your dad told me was how we all needed to take care of each other - "lift each other up" he said...So follow his directions and support each other to help you get through this hard time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I will always remember Pat's sense of humor and her compassion. She was so easy to talk to. Before my husband's death in 2008, he and Pat "bonded" by having long talks together on our patio. She was full of warmth and a love of the Lord. God bless you Pat. I will always miss you.

Walter was a very intelligent man and continued to amaze me with his knowledge throughout a longtime friendship. Pat was always gracious. Although they will be missed by Rae, Shannon, Jill, and friends, they suffered much pain and are now at peace together.

Rae and Shannon, may the loving memories you shared with your father and nana keep in your hearts forever and comfort you. With your mom by his side, your father raised two terrific girls whom I am sure he is proud of. My thoughts and prayers are with you Jill, Shannon & Rae at this trying time in your lives.
