Emily Fox Obituary

Emily Al Fox passed away surrounded by her family September 24, 2011 after a seven year battle with breast cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Gary; her three children, Heather Fox, Allison Fox and Peter (Mindie) Fox and five grandchildren, Cheyenne, Rachael, Justin, Vanessa and Callie Fox, whom she called her angels and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her sister, Pam (Delroy) McLaws, who was a comfort to her in her final days. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emily Boas and her sister, Sue Autrey. She was an employee of the Sahuarita Unified School District for 21 years and leaves behind the many great friends that she made there. She was an avid sports fan who played softball in her youth and was thrilled to watch her two oldest granddaughters play the sport. She was a season ticket holder for the U of A football games and loved to watch the Diamondbacks. In the last seven years she was easily recognized with her U of A baseball cap that had a big red bow on the back. She loved her home at McGee Ranch and considered herself the queen of her castle. She was proud of her family's ranching background and was happy to be living in a community surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She did everything she could to be active in the lives of her family, right up to the end. Her smile, her laughter and her irrverent sense of humor will be sorely missed. Services will be held at the McGee Ranch Cemetery on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL.

Foxie (that was what she let me call her) and I had great times together. We could always find a way to have a laugh. We snickered at the javalina quarters stashed in the nurse's freezer around Halloween, and we giggled at the burritos with the unidentifiable meat filling bought at the odd little stand--we used to say it was cat. What an unforgettable addition to my life you were, Foxie, and you still are. I miss you, my special friend.

Foxie and I (she allowed me to call her that) had good times. We always had a good laugh at everything from javalina quarters in the nurse's office fridge to eating burritos of some unkown meat that we decided must be cat. I missed her terribly when she left and keep every card she ever sent me. I hope I can live my life as she did hers.

God bless you, Foxie!

This was a life well lived. We cherish her memory. She was always a bright spot in my days at Sahuarita. Her pleasant smile, good cheer and hard working attitude made a stop at the copy room a necessity each day.
May her family remember that beautiful smile.
