Debbie,
I am truly sorry for your loss. You and Skip had a beautiful life together - one that the rest of us can only dream of. A relationship that lasted as long as yours is very rare and special. I hope it brings your heart comfort in knowing that you are the one special person he chose to live his beautiful life with. You have my deepest and most sincere sympathy.

Dean you always impressed me as an honest man,who lived with integrity, valued people over things and was always ready with your quick wit and an enchanting story about almost any topic . We will all miss seeing your face at New York Bar at 3:30 every day, sharing a laugh and then a "good night" as you strolled toward your dingy....Good Night and may you be blessed

A TERRIFIC Cousin, Dean (Skip) in December 2012.

Dean was my oldest friend in the Caribbean. I first met him in the mid '90s In Grenada. Our paths crossed many times over the years at anchorages and beach bars around the Caribbean. Dean was the consummate story teller. He had an entertaining story for every occasion relating his experiences with the people he met in this travels. For the last few years Dean made Bequia his home port where he was known as the "Mayor of Bequia" for his vast local knowledge and affinity with the people. Dean will be sorely missed and his passing leaves vast hole in the sailing community.

My Dear Cousin Skip-
Only GOD knows the loss that I am feeling right now and will forever. YOU were my Friend, YOU were my favorite Story Teller and YOU were my Family Historian. You always showed me fun times. You were such a great support to me and helped me thru Pat's passing. I love you for ALL the good times we shared together, especially those at Little Blake Lake. REST IN PEACE now Skip and I'll see you again one day. Your cuz, Lefty

It's strange being in Bequia and not seeing Dean everyday. He was a part of my daily routine, we would share a drink or two in the harbour and he would entertain us with stories of his experiences during his life, before he would bid us all goodnight and take a dinghy ride back to 'Spray' So goodnight and godbless Dean xxx - Dee

Those of us who were neighbors at the lake are really going to miss Skip, his stories, his smiles, his knowledge, his help, and the ribs he cooked. It's hard to imagine what it's going to be like without him this coming spring.
