Dave was a wonderful neighbor and on occasion he would walk over across the street and we would share some time together just talking about anything. I miss those times we had with Dave, but know that Dave is out of pain and at rest.

I had the pleasure of knowing Dave through the State FFA Meats Judging event. He was alway willing to help and share information on the contest. My prayers are with this fine man.

I was sorry to hear about Dave. I knew David when he was a child and lived on the farm east of our family farm. I also attended "country school" with him. He was very bright in math and we had a lot of fun giving him big addition problems that he would always solve in his head correctly. He was always very positive. His mother used to have beautiful gardens so it is neat to hear that he carried on the legacy.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dave's passing. I worked for Dave at the Meat science lab while attending college. He was a great guy! Always cheerful and also concerned about those of us who worked for him. He would ask how class was going, how life in general was treating us. True concern about us. I am sorry I lost touch with Dave over the years but he would always come up in conversations whenever some of us who worked with him got to visit. Mary and Family,
I was very saddened to hear the news about Dave. His friendly smile and laugh brightened most everyone's day. All the 4-H and FFA judging teams will always remember the help Dave provided them. Our state contest time conversations catching up on the meat industry and Jackson County news were most enjoyable. My thougths and prayers are with you.

Dave touched so many and brighten most everyone's day. His help with all the 4-H and FFA meats judging teams is just one part of his outstanding legacy I experienced first hand. I will always remember our yearly state meats contest time conversations when we exchanged meats industry and Jackson county news. What a fun time and fond memory of Dave. We are at loss for words. Dave was a wonderful neighbor and friend. Easy to talk to and always willing to take time for a chat. Ten years ago, Dave inspired me to become a gardener with his awesome gardens and exceptional eye for design and color. I have watched people walk by his gardens to ponder and or take pictures. Dave inspired my husband to volunteer at Bridging.
Dave will be deeply missed by Dick and I. Mary, Andrea, Erin and Katie, we will hold you all in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come. Please know we are here for you.

I am sorry to here of Dave's passing. He was truly a great person. I have many fond memories of his in Jackson Co.4-H, U of MN Meats judging and the AGR/FH relationships. His presence lightened the day when he walked through it. May you find comfort in that he has gone to be with the Lord.

My condolences to the family of Dave Plath. I remember Dave as a student and when he started at the Meat Lab. For many years, I depended on Dave to have things in order when I taught Carcass Evaluation. And he did. Had the pleasure of golfing with him out here with Hawton and Allen. Good friend, good guy!

He would always come up early to get a cup of coffee in the lab and we would discuss all sorts of items but mostly our frustrations with Vikings and Gophers sports teams. He will be deeply missed. Dave Plath defined the term "Good Friend." He was caring and considerate; his cheerfulness and humor could always brighten a gloomy day and raise low spirits. He will truly be missed but not forgotten. Condolences to Mary Erin, Katie, and to all who knew and loved him. Be at peace, Good Friend.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Dave's passing. I worked closely with Dave when I was a graduate student in the mid 70's. Dave was always helpful and had a bright smile, just like the picture. As Jack Lemmon said "death ends a life, not a relationshio."

David was a great boss and a true mentor to me and my brother. We both worked for him at the meat lab in the early 90's. I am deeply saddened by his passing. What a beautiful perfect picture of Dave. He will always be remembered by me as the master gardener and by my kids as the guy with the best rasberry bushes. Lots of years we lived side by side and we couldn't have asked for better neighbors. My heart goes out to you Mary, Erin, Andrea and Katie. We were blessed to have known him.
