CONSTANCE E. SPANN On Tuesday, August 9, 2011, the Lord called Constance E. Spann home. The angels assembled to begin preparation for her homecoming. Anticipation grew as God drew His breath and Connie finally closed her eyes, surrendering unto the Lord. The trumpets sounded and the gates opened. Connie fell into Jesus' arms and was welcomed to her final home. Connie was born April 12, 1932 in New Orleans, LA to Harold and Deborah Borden. She attended Xavier Preparatory in New Orleans and graduated from St. Emma Military Academy, Rock Castle, VA. At the young age of 19, Connie married Bobby Spann and to this union was born five daughters and two sons. Though not one others would call artistically talented, Connie was very creative and endeavored to fashion something beautiful out of very little. She demonstrated this through her cross-stitch and the many collectables she acquired. Connie was a person of her own mind, strong and independent, she loved life and all that life had to offer; striving to get the most out it. She lived life to the fullest - she walked where there was no path and left a strong trail. Connie is survived by her daughters Debbie, Wendy, Kathy, Laurie, Connie and sons Michael and Bobby, 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Though Connie will be missed on earth, all who love her know that she will be standing next to her beloved husband, Bobby, and singing with the angel in heaven - celebrating their eternal peace.
