Not sure what to say?

Just learned of Al's passing in the Fordham quarterly. I wished we'd kept in touch, but at least I have great memories like of your helping me in German class and showing up for my Great Gatsby party in top hat and tails.

Dear Al,
I remember trying my hardest to beat you at racquetball at Loyola College and how you used all your wiley skills to beat me. I remember having a beer with you, your pinky raised in hilarious you, and celebrating when you became the President of my Alma Mater, Gonzaga. Helping to get Uncle Jimmy entered in the GHS sports hall of fame, the funeral you did for Granpa Miller. . .I know you are where you hope to be and for those of us who remain behind, your family and friends, we grieve for us, and our loss. God Bless to your family.

Father Novotny was a truly incredible person. He was also a genuinely thoughtful and caring person...more so than many know. Heaven is a better place with him there, but he will be missed here. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.
