On Monday, January 16, 2012, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Sophie Onufrak; father of Gary A. Onufrak, Sonia O. (Alan) Jennings and Peter M. (Christine) Onufrak; grandfather of John, Hunter, James and Christopher and Angel, Julia and Faith; brother of John Onufrak, Ann Adams and Helen Onufrak. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. (Parastas at 7:30 p.m.) Divine Liturgy at Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, 3410 Woodburn Road, Annandale, VA, on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I have many fond memories of Hank growing up. His commitment to family was a constant inspiration. I know that my parents truly valued his friendship and card playing ability. My thought and prayers are with you and your entire family.

My sympathies to Mrs. Onufrak and the family. It's been decades since I met Mr. Onufrak -- I was a friend of Gary's at St. Camillus almost a half century ago -- but I still remember he was a very kind man, and I know he will be missed.

Hank was such a gracious, generous man.
His gentle, reasonable manner spoke volumes about
his character. I'll miss his advice, his terrific ability to tell a story, and the kind timbre of his voice.

I have known and loved Hank all of my life. I will miss him terribly. Hank was a very loving presence in my life and the lives of my family. We were blessed to know and love him.
