ANTHONY JOSEPH GATTI (Age 87)
On Wednesday, November 28, 2012, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of LaVerne K. Gatti; father of Denise M. and the late Gregory J. Gatti; brother of Sr. Marie Celeste, O.P., Sr. Mary Damien, O.S.B., Bernard F. (Gloria), Leonard M. (the late Mary), and the late Msgr. Lawrence P., John M. and Sr. Mary Loretta Gatti. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII in the Pacific Theatre, was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, Msgr. Wells Council. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Andrew Apostle Church, Arcola Ave. and Kemp Mill Rd., Silver Spring, MD, on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Mr. Gatti was a former neighbor of mine. We lived a couple doors away from each other on Lamberton Drive in Silver Spring, Maryland. I knew him when I was very young and living with my parents. I remember he was always friendly towards me and a heck of a nice guy. His son, Greg, and I used to lift weights. Mr. Gatti, R.I.P. Andrew

I will always remember Tony as a loving and deeply devoted husband and father, a spiritually holy Catholic, and an exemplary worthy brother Knight.
