ARMANDO PESTANA
On Thursday, July 4, 2013, of Takoma Park, MD. Beloved husband of Olga Pestana; father of Maite Pestana Ballestero; brother of Aleida Pestana, Alfonso Pestana and Alfredo Pestana; grandfather of Alexander Ballestero. Also survived by many other loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 7500 Pearl Street, Bethesda, MD, on Tuesday, July 9 at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. We are so sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Pestana. My father, Bernard Calis enjoyed spending hours a week in front of OLOL waiting for his grandchildren while talking to his friend Armando. My Dad really did not need to get to school so early to pick up my kids. It was quickly apparent he only did it the days he knew his friend would be there to pick up Alex and they would chat. They talked about cooking, the Farm, hunting, travels,current events, and what they both cherish the most...family. We share in your sadness and will always keep Mr. Pestana in our hearts.
