ATARHE GBEMIYE-ETTA (Age 58)
On September 30, 2012, surrounded by family, Ms. Atarhe Gbemiye-Etta of Bowie, MD, passed away after a long fight with cancer. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. "We were and still are truly blessed by her time with us; she will be missed." Relatives and friends may call at St. John's Episcopal Church, 4112 34th Street, Mount Rainier, MD on Saturday, October 13 from 10 to 11 a.m., where a Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lodge (Cancer Society of America), 636 W. Lexington St., Baltimore, MD 21201.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Atarhe was the 2nd mother in this family. She will be greatly missed. May God grant the whole family the grace to bear the loss.

I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I worked with Ms. Etta at Kettering Elementary School. She was funny and always used to tease me. My prayers are with you as you go through this tough time. I am unable to attend the going away this weekend but know that my thoughts will be with you. May the fond memories of her help you get through this process and comfort you in the days to come.
