On Saturday, December 18, 2010, a native Washingtonian, of Mount Airy, MD. Beloved husband of Betty Gardiner; father of Douglas and William (Laura) Gardiner and Sharon (Steven) Crisafulli; grandfather of Colleen and Caitlin Crisafulli, Casey Knight and Francis Sullivan Gardiner; uncle of Barry Woods of Jacksonville, FL. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michaels Road, Mount Airy, MD, on Tuesday, December 28 at 11 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville, MD. Dear Sharon, Betty and Doug -
Just today did I learn of Bernie's passing. I only had the chance to know him for a few short years, but I am so glad we met. I hope that your memories of him provide you warm comforts in the days and years ahead.

Bernie and I were double first cousins and we shared many family rememberences as well as many good times with Betty, Sharon, Bill and Doug. I miss him greatly as does my wife, Betty.
