BERNARD PATRICK SWEENEY  
On Thursday, May 24, 2012 of Fort Myers, FL. Beloved husband of Jane B. Sweeney and the late Gertrude Ann Sweeney; father of Maureen Sweeney Becker, BJ Sweeney, Christine Kelley, Deanne Fosnocht, MD, and Nancene Salazar; grandfather of Kristie, Brian and Melissa Sweeney, Meagan, Alissa, Heather and Kiersten Kelley, Rachel Ann, Abigail and Julia Fosnocht, Tristan, Alexandra and Drew Salazar. He was a graduate of Ben Franklin University in Accounting and retired at the age of 54 from The World Bank in 1986. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking), Tuesday, May 29, 7 to 9 p.m., with prayer service by Msgr. John F. Macfarlane at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 917 Montrose Road, Rockville, MD, on Wednesday, May 30, at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD. I remember my dear uncle Bernie so often. Time passes mercilistly fast but my memories have not faded. I know his family will mark the anniversary of his passing with prayers and recalling great memories. Irish eyes will be smiling on May 24th in commemoration of this wonderful man. My Dear Jane, I was so sorry to hear about Bernie's passing. I know how much he ment to you and I know that you will miss him greatly. You were so dedicated to eachother and I know he will always have a place in your heart.
