Carole Hosey Obituary


CAROLE JOYCE OAKES HOSEY  
Died peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Hosey, she was born and raised in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and lived abroad with her husband and children during his 26-year career with the CIA. She and her husband proudly served in the armed forces during World War II. For decades, she was a community organizer and advocate for the rights of the developmentally disabled. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her children, Kristine, Matthew, Regina, Andrea and Stephen; niece, Carole; grandchildren, Holly-anne, Daniel, Stephen, Jennifer Meghan, Vanessa, Brian and Emily; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Christian, Aimee, and Ryan. She was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn. All are invited to a viewing on Monday, February 21 at 10 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2900 Olney Sandy-Spring Road, Olney, MD. Graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Aspen Hill, MD to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arc of Montgomery County at www.arcmontmd.org or by mail at 11600 Nebel Street, Rockville, MD, 20852-2554.
