Chuck and I sang in the choir together at Holy Redeemer for a total of 7 years. By a very funny coincidence I found out he knew my son through CAP and AFA and had known him since he was 14 years old. From that point on we were fast friends. When I lost my husband 4 years ago, Chuck was there and we started going places together. Chuck opened up a whole new world to me as far as AFA and Pro-Life. I joined AFA and became his secretary and attended many Knights of Columbus events with him. I was always proud to be with him and always willing to go anywhere he wanted to take me. Being with Chuck as his companion was a pleasure and a privilege. We grew to be very fond of each other - I loved him in a very special way - a spiritual way - and will continue to love him and the memories that I have will remain with me forever. I will miss him and do miss him. Rest in Peace My Love. I will see you again someday.

I have known Charlie Suraci practically all of my life. He was a member of the bass section of the men's choir of the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church when I joined the boy's choir in 1962. I eventually joined the men's choir, as did my father, Ed Greene, Sr., and the three of us sang together for many years. I am shocked and saddened by his death... I was happy to see him back singing in the choir, particularly after the health struggles that he has had the past few years. He is greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but he's now with the love of his life, Florence. God bless and keep you always, Charlie!

In Chuck's hole being there was a burning desire of promoting the dignity of human life. In his name I ask to renew our intention of prayers so there will be a true understanding of the dignity of all human life.
There are no better words to describe the LOVE in Chuk's Heart better than this words of St. Augustine,
"What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like."… This is Chuck. You surely will be missed.
Love, Mariana Vera.

Chuck Suraci was a true pro-life hero. He served on the board of Centro Tepeyac Silver Spring Women's Center for over 12 years-- he never wanted to retire from the board. In fact, we kept him on as a honorary member. I can remember many a cold winter night his coming to the board meetings after serving duty at an air force post-- even when he was using a cane and walker-- he would always bring us cookies and fruit. the staff loved having those the next day!! he never tired of promoting Centro Tepeyac and his Knights of Columbus pro-life activities. It is largely through his insistance that Centro Tepeyac is now partnering with the Knights of Columbus to become a medical clinic. I know from heaven he will continue to plead our cause --"for the babies" as he used to always repeat. May he rest in peace.

I have been very blessed to have known "Uncle Chuck" since I was 13, when I joined CAP. He was a great mentor and someone to look up to by all of us who came through CAP over the years. He touched many hearts and will be greatly missed.
