DANIEL ROBERT DAVIS
On Saturday, March 16, 2013, of Gaithersburg, MD. Beloved husband of Christine M. Davis; father of Kevin and Sean Davis; son of Deborah Harvey and the late Michael Davis; brother of Scott and Timothy Davis. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial service will be held at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 72 University Blvd East, Silver Spring, on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment private. Christine, I have talked with you several times since Daniel passed, and my heart just breaks for you and the boys. I know too well how it hurts. Hold tight to your memories, you will want to share all those wonderful thoughts with your boys daily. Your boys and those memories will be what get you through your tough days and make you smile. Daniel truly was my favorite nephew and I will smile when I think of him. He is in heaven with Bruce and I know they are together keeping an eye on us. I am here for you to chat anytime. We were shocked and saddened to learn of your husband, Daniel's, death. We've known you for such a long time but never had the pleasure to meet or know Daniel but, from all the comments here, he sounded like a wonderful, loving, caring, father and husband who will be greatly missed. Mrs. Davis - I learned of your tragic loss from some of the other Troopers who served in 1-158th Cavalry's 1st Platoon at the same time your husband and I did. Christine, Kevin and Sean--there are no words in the English dictionary to describe the sadness that is felt for you at this time of your loss. Danny was a delightful and caring human being, but most of all he loved and cherished you all more than anything in the world. The world has has a lost a beautiful person..that smile would brighten any room or shine light on cloudy day. He was a man of great character and strength. We will truly miss him and forever love and hold him in our hearts. We will continue to pray for you and the children. A few years back, Danny and I worked together at SGMA. He was brilliant and restructured/computerized our service department! I still sign on with password DD, that Danny created. I argued with him that it wasn't really his initials, but stood for Dunkin Donuts, where we shared a cup or two.
I'm saddened and will miss him.

You and I met just a few times at Bioscan, but Dan and I made special time for a cup of coffee together each morning where we solved the worlds problems, compared notes and prepared for the day to come. Dan always brought a smile to my face, and I know to the face of everyone else in the lab. My world is smaller now as another light has passed before it's time. I have no words that could possibly console you in your loss. Please call if a trip to the Allegheny Mountains could help you and the boys in any way.

This is such a shock, and the world is a little dimmer with Daniel gone. I enjoyed his company, even if it was a simple 'hey' as i came in the office. We always shared a laugh, and took the best of the situation. He was great at his work and most importantly cared deeply for his family. I will miss him.
