DAVID EDWARD FARRELL (Age 44)
On Wednesday, July 13, 2011, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, a graduate of Northwood High School and the University of Maryland. Beloved husband of Charisse Farrell; father of Joseph Harlien Farrell; son of Joseph Henry and the late Mary Alice Farrell; brother of Alice Green (Wheeler), Tammy Sarvi (Michael), Teresa Dye (Kenny); uncle of Adrian, Sean, Michael and Linda; nephew of Helen O'Bryant. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 22, at 11 a.m. Interment Parklawn Memorial Park. Joe, I was thinking your a Sophomore in High School. Make sure and try hard at your education. I know your father loved University of Maryland. He was in the fraternity SAE, or Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Try and do well on you SAT's and ACT's good luck. I wish you the best, your father would be so proud of you.

Dear Joe, your dad and I went to University of Maryland together. He was kind, fun and loved to laugh. I found his first apartment in Nj in 1988. He was so excited and was never a complainer. He looked on the bright side and was optimistic. Study hard and get good grades, go to University of Maryland. Your dad would be very happy and proud of that.

I just found out about David's passing. May I offer my deepest sympathy to the Farrell family. You now have your own Guardian Angel, I hope you find peace in God's love and healing and now that you will all be together again someday. I truly am sorry for your loss. RIP David.

Dave and I were fraternity brothers at University of Maryland College Park and following college we were roommates for over two years. Dave has imprinted a special mark on my heart which will remain forever. His sense of humor and wit have made for a lifetime of great memories. We will miss Dave and will forever hold him in our hearts.

Thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. Although I lost touch with him through the years, I have fond memories of hanging out with him when I came back to Maryland and when he moved to So. Cal. I tried to show him around and just hang out. David's passing has had a profound effect on me. I regret we could not continue our lives together as brother-in-laws, and that I did not know you better.
David's name is added to a long list of people whom I've lost in the last five years. Since learning of his untimely passing, I find myself thinking about him, the importance of keeping in touch and knowing friends and family.
I enjoyed the time we had and will do my part to help Joseph remember you, and to help him throughout his life.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of David's passing. We will miss you David. It was so good to hear from him and to reminisce if ever so briefly through Facebook a couple months ago. His kind words lifted my spirits in a very rough period. Love and prayers. Rest easy David.
