I extend my sincerest condolences to Marilyn and the entire Gantz family for the loss of Del. It was my pleasure top work for Del in the Patent Office for about 20 years He was always willing and able to help and I credit him with much of my success as an Examiner. He was also a friend and we enjoyed many conversations about our mutual interests in woodworking and clocks.

When we think of Delbert, Sandi and I recall many wonderful memories. During our years of traveling the US, we always looked forward with special anticipation, to the opportunity to visit Delbert and Marilyn in Silver Spring. Delbert had a great way of arranging fascinating day trips that enhanced our historical and geographic knowledge of the DC area and mid-Atlantic region. With even more anticipation, we always welcomed the opportunity to catch up on Delbert's latest additions to his collections, restorations and building projects involving clocks, furniture, and many other things. What a wonderful craftsman! So now we find it easy to believe that Delbert will be doing many more projects, and doing them for the Lord in "His workshop".

Reading these tributes to Delbert filled in the years since I knew him growing up. I am comforted to know that he was a blessing to family and friends and enjoyed life and I know he will be greatly missed. From Delbert's "KS" cousin.

I want to be like my Uncle Delbert: busy every day of my life with projects, especially woodworking, even if it's for someone else. I was always amazed how many clocks my Uncle could keep running! Thanks everyone for keeping this side of the family informed and involved despite the miles and years between us.

I will always remember "Mr. Gantz" as a kind, soft-spoken, hard-worker and extremely meticulous. My first car belonged to Mr. Gantz - the AMC Hornet. May you rest in peace.

I will remember 'DEL' as a true gentleman, always willing to give his time and efforts to helping others, both family and friends. He will be missed but not forgotten by many. May he R.I.P.

It's a true blessing to be able to say I had a good father. Many can't say that. You were always there for us, provided for us, encouraged us, taught us right from wrong, protected us and led from example. When a bird is sick, it stops singing. When you stopped, I knew your fate. I'm happy to have caught you singing "Jesus Loves Me" with your health aid. Yes, Jesus does love you, and so do many others; myself included.
Love Always,
Denise
P.S. I hope to see you again when my time is up here. I miss your humor, wit, intelligence/wisdom, talents and canary voice. For someone who loved working on clocks, it must be strange for you to be in a place with no time. "See ya' later alligator..." ;)
