I was so sad to hear of Doug's passing. I worked for him for many years in the early 1990's with paperwork. He was a true Christian and sincerely cared about people and wanted the best for them. He is missed but I am confident that he is with the Lord. My thoughts and prayers are with Susan and his family.

I remember with fondness our times practicing law in Rockville over 35 years ago. Doug was always a kind and considerate gentlemen concerned about the welfare of his clients. Regrettably there are too few like him today. I know that his family will always be proud of him and what he did for others.

May he rest in peace with The Lord.

Judge Thomas F. Hogan
Washington, DC

As an attorney practicing in Maryland and Washington DC for around 50 years, Doug has touched the lives of thousands of clients many of whom continually came back to him for legal advice and services and referred others to him. Like the country doctors of old times that made house calls and handled all health care issues, Doug was an old fashioned lawyer who often traveled to his client's location and worked with them on payment options, doing much pro bono work for those who could not afford to pay. Like those country doctors, Doug did not specialize but handled cases ranging from criminal to domestic divorce and custody cases, real estate and personal injury. And more than just preparing legal documents and preparing for trials before a judge, Doug was emotionally supportive, each one feeling that they had Doug's full attention and interest in helping them. Doug brought his intelligent and keen mind to his work and also his work ethic, putting in long hours of research and preparation as he determined necessary regardless of the client's position to pay for his services. Just as a country doctor was often also considered a family and personal friend, Doug was also considered a friend by many of his clients.

We mourn with you the loss of Doug, who was a true Christian gentleman, giving of himself in so many ways to the church and to people. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

Doug shall be missed by those who knew him. A gentleman who always had the time to listen to help those that he could.
