EDWARD WILLIAM HYLAND
On Wednesday, September 26, 2012 of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Noank, CT and Allentown, PA. Beloved husband of Melissa Hyland; father of Paul Hyland, Charlotte Hyland, Sara (David) Schnell and Thomas (Anne) Hyland; grandfather of Violet, Owen, Ruth, Fiona and Ryan; brother of Gerald Hyland. Relatives and friends may call at Church of the Resurrection at Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD on Monday, October 1 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Relief Services or American Heart Association. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Dear Melissa & Family,
I was saddened to learn of Ed's passing and convey my heartfelt sympathies. Ed was a trustworthy colleague with a wonderful dry wit, a serious thinker and a great understanding of all things legal. I will always remember his joyful spirit at Lehigh's 100th anniversary celebration! It was a pleasure to have worked with him. May God bless and comfort all of you during this difficult time. I am sorry to hear of the news of your loss. We offer our condolences to the family. Eccelsiastes 7:1 says that a name is of great value at the end of their life, because you now know who and what kind of person Edward was and you now have years of memories to give you comfort during your pain.
