EILEEN FANNING AUKWARD (Age 89)
On Thursday, August 30, 2012, Eileen F. Aukward, a long time resident of New Carrollton, MD peacefully passed away. Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Aukward; mother of Deirdre E. (Pat), Stephen J. (Judy), Mary Anne (Neal), Rita K. (Frank), Monica E. (Tim), Joseph P. (Betty) and Sheila M. (John); sister of Teresa Jackson and Rosalie Gresh; and sister-in-law of Bernadette M. Aukward. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at St. Mary's Church, 7301 Annapolis Road, Landover Hills, MD on Tuesday, September 4 from 10 to 11 a.m., where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Xavier Society for the Blind, 154 East 23rd St, New York, NY 10010.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Sincere sympathy on the death of Eileen Aukward , a first cousin of our mother ,the late Margaret Finnegan , her late siblings Luke and Tom (Fannon)and Mary Kate Joyce who is now in failing health. We have fond memories of times spent with Eileen and family on visits to Ireland,as we do of all of "Uncle Tom's" who visited over the years.IN our thoughts,Mary (Finnegan)Mullins ,all the Finnegan,Joyce and Fannon families.

I received the Seton notice and was so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I know it is very difficult, as I lost my dear father three years ago and not a day passes that I do not think of him and miss him. But, that just means he was a special person, just like your mother. Carry on her legacy.

Joe and Eileen were adored by her Uncle and Aunt Herbert and Gertrude Price and loved by her cousins. We were so grateful to have Eileen in our lives as we look back on so many good times. Eileen was a true inspiration, and was light to all. An amazing person and a life well lived, our hearts go out to each one of you and her entire family as we remember her good works which are her legacy.

My wife Eileen and I are suspended in life around a day like this one. I lost my Mother in March and Eileen's is 92 and growing ever closer to the same eternal reward.
