EMMETT R. MATHEWS

EMMETT RANDALL MATHEWS "Randy" (Age 61)  
Of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away on the morning of October 6, 2013. Randy was born November 27, 1951, in Bartow, Florida. He was the son of the late Emmett Guy and Clara Coker Mathews. He graduated from Bartow High School, and then enlisted in the Air Force where he was stationed at the National Security Agency at Fort Meade, Maryland. While in Maryland, he graduated from Montgomery College with a degree in computer science. After working several years as a systems analyst for Rixon, Inc., he later started his own business as a computer consultant. In addition to his career, Randy volunteered as a Montgomery County paramedic, achieving the status of National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). He was also a member of Colesville Baptist Church where he was very active in the music ministry. Survivors of Mr. Mathews include his wife Nancy of Silver Spring, MD; his daughter, Heather, of Clarksburg, MD; his son, Christopher, of North Potomac, MD, and two granddaughters, Sarah Mathews and Samantha Mathews. A memorial service will be held for Randy at Colesville Baptist Church on October 11, 2013, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com
