Beloved wife of John Matwey; mother of Ronnie (Faith) Matwey, Connie (Roger) Lipinski and Patty Matwey; grandmother of Roman, Pearle and Grace Lipinski. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service at Glenmont United Methodist Church, 12901 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Mrs. Matwey (as I always knew her as a kid) was a great backyard neighbor over 50 years ago, and I'm glad my wife got a chance to meet her several times in the last 10 years. Your constant smile will be missed.

my really neat aunt who was such a treasure! Always kind and caring and funny. She loved kids and cats and travel. God bless you and keep you in his care.

This candle is lit with love for my Aunt Gerry, her beloved husband, my Uncle Johnny, and her 3 chilren, my cousins Ronnie,Connie and Patty. I will always remember my Aunt Gerry Matwey.

Mrs Matwey was a gracious lady of taste and good manners. A terrific mother who put three good people into our Universe.She had a soft heart for animals and those who were lucky enough to find their homes with her were always loved, spoiled and cared for. I was lucky to know her and she will be missed
