GRETCHEN MARIE FLETCHER
On Friday, June 15, 2012, of Hyattsville, MD. Beloved daughter of the late Francis Xavier and Gretchen Eileen (nee Smith) Fletcher; sister of James, Paul, Martin, Stephen and Brian and the late Matthew Fletcher. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, New Hampshire & Larch Avenues, Takoma Park, MD, on Thursday, June 21 at 11 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Marie's name may be made to Clyde F. Today they laid you in the ground. Although I know you are in heaven and feeling no more pain I cant help to feel sad and I wish I could pick up the phone and call you and talk about everything like we always did. Our deepest sympathy to the Fletcher family. We remember Marie as having many friends, a big heart along with a great sense of humor--a wonderful combination. We loved listening to her tell stories--one in particular when she ended up at the wrong house for a party. She had us laughing so hard we were crying. We saw her on St. Patrick's Day in Ocean City this year and despite her illness, she was chatting away, telling stories, and making us smile. Her strength is an inspiration to us.

Marie was always a close friend of the Hayes family and I was blessed to know her in my life as a friend. I'll always remember that laugh and that full-of-life personality that bartended at Larry's Landing on St. John, USVI and various other places. When mt Aunt Nancy passed of cancer back in February, 2011 it was Marie that was always willing to be by her bedside as she peacefully passed on. I will always remember you and have love in my heart for you, Marie. RIP and god bless your family.
