JAMES J. CHUMAS (Age 91)
On Monday, March 11, 2013, of Sandy Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Mary C. Chumas; father of John J. Chumas (Rosemarie) of Brookeville, MD and Georgia J. Diersing (Victor) of Manassas, VA; grandfather of James, Kathleen, Gregory, James and Michael; brother of Eva Collis and Sophie Chumas. Also survived by three great-grandchildren. Mr. Chumas was born in Washington, DC and was a life-long resident of the metropolitan area. He was a WW II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps, European Theatre. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. (Prayers at 7:30 p.m.) Funeral Service at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 36th St. & Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, DC, 20007, on Thursday, March 14 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
