JOANNE BUAS
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012 of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved daughter of the late Frank and Katherine Buas; sister of Michael (Grace) Buas and Linda Buas; niece of Fifi and Achilleas Dounis; aunt of Matthew Buas; godmother of Peter Domis. Also survived by many loving cousins and family members. Relatives and friends may call at COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, 500 University Blvd, West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Thursday, November 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 36th St.& Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20007 on Friday, November 16 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I just heard and am so sorry I didn't find out in time to pay my respects at Collins last week. We were good friends especially at Northwood. I kept trying to get her to come to reunions but could never persuade her to attend. I am so sorry for your loss and so sad to hear this

I called for an interview for a PT job in 1986 when Joanne was the go-to HR person. I just remember her great smile and enthusiasm for the College. She sure sold me! Both being long time Wash. DC area natives we discovered we had many connections. Please accept my condolences and deepest sympathy.

Memo to Joanne's Family. I send along very sincere condolences to all of you.
Joanne was truly a dedicated employee of the ACC and one who worked hard and contributed SO MUCH to the success of the College. She and I and others were there in the "GOLDEN YEARS" when it really was fun and we knew that the officers appreciated all we did for them. I know that all of you will miss her very positive personality and indeed all who knew her and worked with her are saddened by her passing.
May the Good Lord Bless her and all of you at this very sad time.

I am so sorry to hear the news about Joanne. She interviewed and hired me for ACC 28 years ago, and I'm still there! I always loved her measured and well reasoned approach to issues. And she was a lot of fun. I'm so sorry we lost contact over the year. My heart goes out to you in this time of loss. I send my love and prayers

I am so sorry for your loss. I always remembered Joanne fondly from elementary school as a dear friend and was very sorry to have lost touch with her after high school. I'd hoped she would be at our last high school reunion, as I'd wanted to reconnect with her.

Dear Linda, I was so sad when I got the news about Joanne. Mike and I are so happy we got to talk to you and your brother Michael last night. Joanne always spoke so fondly about both of you, and I can see why. She was blessed to have such a wonderful sister and brother.

Oh what sad news. She was such a happy, people person. We wonder what happened? As we recall, Joanne was quite a few years younger than us. We all worked and played together when Joanne worked at ACC. Husbands and wives at the employee parties and just girls when we went to the annual meeting.
