On Thursday, May 23, 2013 of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late Marion F. "Pat" Bentz; mother of Carolyn B. Hoover (Patrick), Kenneth P. Bentz (Susan), Deanna B. Murphy (Michael), Jacqueline B. Dugroo (Mark) and Pamela B. Parker (Christopher); sister of Elizabeth "Mitzi" Kelley and Wilhelmina "Billie" McNamara; grandmother of 12. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Thursday, May 30 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, 12319 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD on Friday, May 31 at 11 a.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. We were so fortunate to have the Bentz's as next-door neighbors for 26 years. Joanne was a wonderful mother; she set such a good example to try to follow. We will miss her very much, but we have wonderful memories to keep with us.
God bless all of her children and grandchildren at this sad time.

On behalf of the Golden Techites, we extend our sympathy to the family. Joanne was our classmate in 1951 when she graduated from McKinley Tech. Although her health was not good, she was able to serve as President of the Golden Techites and was an active committee member. She will be missed.
