JOHN ERNEST HOGUE
On Saturday, August 3, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husand of Patricia Hogue; father of Erika Lynn (Schuyler) Huyck, Douglas Matthew (Shannon) Hogue and John Brigham Hogue; grandfather of James, Trent and Genevieve Huyck; brother of Jamie Ward, Janice Hogue and the late Joanne Hogue. Also survived by many beloved family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, Wednesday, August 7, from 10 to 11 a.m., where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Inurnment Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a later date. Dear Pat and Family, our John's have been gone for more than 12 years. It doesn't seem possible. I miss them. They were honest, hard-working, loving gentlemen...a bit rough around the edges but hearts of gold. One memory that has always stood out for me was when Gary Davis passed away and had left his property to several individuals. My John was having problems dealing with Gary's death so your John did all the work to ensure that Gary's wishes were met and several very deserving Veterans received a much welcomed inheritance posthumously from Gary. He also wrote a eulogy upon my John's passing, which he had Pat read because it was too painful for him. He passed away not too long after that and the world lost two of its best. Pat, I hope all is well with you. Call me sometime. I still have the same number.
