I served as an altar boy and was in CYO at St Mary Star of the sea in Indian head MD under Father Stack. One of the things he loved to do was give kids nicknames. I earned my nickname at baseball practice when while playing first base. The sun was right behind the third baseman and when he threw a ball to me at first I totally lost it in the sun and did not come close to catching it. Father Stack said nice catch Mr Magoo and that became my nickname. Father Stack never forgot any of the boys and girls in our parish and even many years later I went to a dinner ay his parish in Chaptico and as soon as he saw me he not only called me by name but remembered my nickname. Father Stack you never forgot us and we will never forget you. Please continue to watch over us and pray for us as we do for you. Thank You for being a part of our lives and Rest In Peace!

I was part of the group of early parishioners who went from St. Patrick's to help found St. Francis of Assisi and was an alter boy for Father Stack. He was one of a kind, had a wonderful dry sense of humor, loved football nearly as much as he loved his parishioners and God, and he will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace, Father.

I was an altar boy under Father Stack at St Mary Star of the Sea in Indian Head Md. He was very tough on the altar boys but we all respected and loved him. He never forgot us and we will never forget him. To all of us he was a priest, mentor, and friend and his memories will live with us forever. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God Rest In Peace, AMEN!

A good man and outstanding priest is no longer with us. His homilies always were brief but often I was able to relate it to my life to be a better person. My family had so much respect for his values, his honesty, and he was always straight forward and to the point. All of my family held him in high regard and we have many fond memories of him during the time we were fortunate to have him with us at Our Lady of the Wayside. He has earned his rightful place in heaven. God bless him and his family.

We're so glad that you wanted your funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Wayside in Chaptico. I think that after you got to know us down here, you realized that we were good, honest, respectful people. We enjoyed your dry sense of humor and good homilies. We also hope that you will get to see your original "Tank" again. We also enjoyed your short Mass when you had a ticket to the Redskins game!!! God bless and keep you Father Stack. All of us will miss your phone calls to check up on us.

We will never forget the Wonderful Fr Stack, from the years he was here in Indian Head through all the years after he was assigned to other parishes. He was one of the most memorable priests we ever had the joy of knowing. He always remembered our family and was always available whenever we needed him, no matter where he went. Wonderful man........

You got the CYO going at St. Joseph's Beltsville. It was a wonderful ministry that help many children and families not just in our parish but in parishes throughout the Archdiocese. You were a taskmaster, but fair. You gave us the Money to have the Nowhere Men at a dance and that helped establish our teen club. Dad just talked to you a month ago and you teased him about Notre Dame. Rest in Peace and keep all of your families in your prayers!!!!!
