WORKING WITH JOHN AT NIH BACK IN 1984/86 WAS FUN. I WOULD BRING HIM COFFEE ALL NIGHT LONG SO HE WOULDN'T FALL ASLEEP WHILE SITTING POST GUARDING A BUILDING. THERE WHERE MANY NIGHTS THAT HE SAT POST SMOKING HIS PIPE SITTING DIRECTLY UNDER A SMOKE DETECTOR SETTING OFF THE FIRE ALARM ACTIVATING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO RESPOND. I JUST FOUND OUT TODAY 07/2019 THAT YOU PAST IN 2011.....YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

A great guy, pilot, and police officer, John made me laugh like no other on that midnight shift back in the day. The Key bridge story was the best.

Tex you were the first person I saw back in 87' when I started my first night with NIH POlice. I remember sitting at my first roll call in the old 31A building. I saw a silloette of a man with a cape, police hat and pipe at the end of the dark hallway; it was you. You became my FTO and Mentor. One of my most prized posessions is the set of your Sergeant stripes you gave me after the Blum case. I will never forget you; you 'Walk on Water,' to me and you always will. I love you and will miss you terribly.

John was a damn good man. Old school. Hardworking, kind, honest and caring. I enjoyed hearing of his experiences piloting his canvas winged airplane. He knew freedom in the sky like few ever will. It's comforting to know he
he's now trying out his new set of wings. No restricted airspace now!

All of the Driscolls and Kearneys in the Philadelphia area and elsewhere are saddened at the passing of our cousin Dick. He and Kathy helped us immensely back in '85 when Big Tom Kearney passed and we regaled at his adventures with the aviation unit. Rest In Peace, Cowboy.

When Tex first went to the Helicopter Branch from old #9 afetr he got his license he came over to the precinct and gave everybody a ride in Juno 7. I told Tex I would never get in a helicopter after I left Vietnam. He talked me into a ride. I ahve not been in one since. Tex you are one of kind.

Tex was a man's man. As a young patrolman in the 6th District, Tex was my sergeant. His stories inspired me and encouraged me. He is truely an icon on the Metropolitan Police Department of a "real police officer". Tex you will always be a bright memory to me.

Sincere condolences from the children of Walter Schubring, aka Schuman, who was Tex's partner in old Precinct #13. Peter and Fred Schubring
