Our Dear Joey,
I will forever be in awe of your grace. I am so proud to be able to say that you are my blood. I love you dear cousin. The children of this world have lost a champion....but I know the tiny souls in heaven were waiting when you arrived. Kiss my Bopie. You will be sorely missed.

On occasion I would refer to Joe as Chief Eagle Wings due the immense span of his sheer goodness and sage wisdom, amongst other things. Joe enjoyed that reference and, of course, his sense of connection to his Native American Brothers as well as all of the earthly brothers and sisters that he carried a sense of responsibility for, especially the needy or vulnerable children. Tender heart, powerful man. Your purpose and matter has now grown by orders of magnitude as your angelic guardianship is upon you. I know your wings have spread beyond our comprehension. "Incredible" was a favorite adjective of Joe's...one in which I would describe him. An Incredible Hero for many. Forever and Always....with Love and Gratitude to Dearest Joe.

The death of Joe Robert is a great loss to financially needy young people who benefited from his great effort to secure financial help for tuition so they could get a chance at life by receiving a good education. May God be good to his soul and may he rest in peace.

This world has lost an incredible soul, while Heaven and the stars are shining a little brighter.
Joe, you gave so much of yourself in the short time you had on this earth. You will live on forever in the faces of so many children for generations to come.
I remember your favorite song - James Brown, I Feel Good. I will always remember you with a smile on your face and in a warm place in my heart.
You fought a hard and good fight. Rest now my friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with the whole Robert family. Joey is part of my fondest memories of growing up in Woodmoor, riding bikes with him and another St. B's classmate. We lived the wonder years before there was the TV show. From early on, he touched so many people with his kind heart and adventurous spirit. Do you think he'll be able to organize a "flight night" for the angels in heaven? He and his work will live on.

I am searching for words to console my friend Aimee and her family. My heart goes out to all of you. Take solace in the pride you must feel in the glowing words spoken and written of a son who did so much for so many.

Matt. 19-24 Jesus said, "again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God". And Joe said "agreed" and did it.

On behalf of the entire McCarthy family I wish to extend our condolences on the passing of Joe. Who would have every thought that one of our own from St. Bernadettes elementary school would rise to such heights and contribute in such a tangible way to our hometown, and accomplishing it in an all to short life. Our thoughts and payers are with his boys and the entire Robert family.
Sincerely,
Michael P. McCarthy

Joe helped so many children- many who might never know his name or how much he impacted their lives. He lived a life that will resonate for generations. In a sense, he gifted all of us. His sons can take great pride in their father.
