Joe,
I miss your wisdom and unique perspective.
I miss your ability to make me laugh at the mundane things in life.
I miss your completely outlandish and ridiculous plottings.
I miss your stories about the wildlife in and around your house.
I miss your gruff but gentle manner.
I miss your easygoing, non-extravagant lifestyle and generous nature.
I miss your knowledge of current events and your passion for things about which you felt strongly.
I miss the pride in your voice when you talk about your children and grandchildren.
Most of all, I miss your phone calls.
Rest in peace, Joe.
Love, Mary

Joe was a thoughtful, caring brother. Every mothers day, Joe would send roses to our mother, his daughter, Bernadette, my sister Mary and me.
Joe was always open and honest with his thoughts and it was easy to get involved in deep discussions with him.
He often talked about his son Joe and his adventures and his daughter Bernadette and his three grandchildren. He loved them very much.
It's still hard to believe that we won't hear his commentaries and jokes. He will be missed terribly.
